  • Consistency and Repetition are the Keys to a Successful Life

I have always been a person who had goals, and actually reached their goals. The problem for me was not knowing how to maintain and sustain these goals over long periods of time. For example if I challenged myself to start going to the gym, then I would start going, and I would go hard at it but could not maintain this pace over more than 6 months. I would be so tired, I would start not enjoying the process. You really have to love what you do to sustain it for a long period of time, and make it more of a lifestyle rather than a chore.

I realized that it's better to do a little less, and be consistent at that , rather than to have these unrealistic goals and quit halfway through.

My lesson now is to do a little bit everyday, and play the long game.

  • Unless You Change Your Thermostat ( your capacity to receive more out of life), you won't be Able to Move Past your Current State in life.

The self-image is the thermostat. It is how we perceive ourselves to be, and how you see yourself determines where you will be in life three, five, ten years from now.

When I came to that realization, it honestly frightened me, and I knew immediately that I needed to do something about it.

I had to ask myself some important questions.

How do I see myself now? am I a 30 degree person, or 50 , 60 and how can I raise it to a 90? What are my insecurities? What am I afraid of? Then I started building on paper the new version of me. The real me, the 90 degree version of me. what is she like, what does she wear, how does she think? What are her habits? What are her strengths and weaknesses? It is the version of me I have always wanted to be.

The thing is, there is something called a paradigm. The person you see in the mirror is a combination of so many elements such as genetics, the way you were raised, words you’ve heard growing up, experiences, environment so many of these made you who you are today, BUT it is not the REAL you. We have been conditioned , and it began from conception up until now.

Usually it takes a major event in one's life to wake up, and start living the life you have been given. To live it on your terms, your way, the way you have been designed by your creator to be , do and accomplish.

I would highly recommend the book Psycho-Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz, Md. It is a great book that should be read and re-read over and over until you understand it and make the changes that you need to increase your capacity to grow and to receive everything that life has to offer.

  • The Ability to Remain Steadfast in Life's Valleys

“When it rains, it pours. But, when the sun shines, it’s worth the wait.” Alan Young. They say the pain doesn't last always, but when you are in it, it feels like it's forever. The ability to remain steadfast in the valleys of life is the key to coming out stronger than before. The ability to look at pain in its face and say you won't break me, I will win no matter what. That spirit of never giving up is what is going to help you through it. In the Bible it says in Psalm 23:4 “Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me ” God will get you through any setback, any challenge and bring you out stronger and better than before. God will be your helper, your comforter, your provider, you need only to be still, and know that He is God.

It’s not easy, it is a journey for sure. A Journey of self discovery, a journey of humility, and a time to walk with God. Who knew God would be in the valleys of the shadow of death, but He is. He is always there, everywhere. He promised that He will never leave us nor forsake us, and when we are weak, He is strong. When we finally learn to let go, and let God, He really can work miracles in our lives. Glory to God.

The tools I have used to keep me sane when things got really challenging were:

Prayer

Awareness

Meditation

Knowing my worth

A lot of times I felt like giving up, like throwing in the towels, but I kept praying and Thanking God, and going to Him even when I was mad at God at times, but God kept pouring his love on me, his favor and his mercy and his grace. I am so grateful.

Remember that in everything in life the key to success is consistency, even in your prayer life. There is a time for inhaling and a time for exhaling, there is a time for everything , but consistency is the key.

Make a long list of the person you want to be and repeat it everyday

I am the type of person who is resilient

I am the type of person who drinks water

I am the type of person who goes to the gym daily even if all I do is go on the treadmill. What you are building is a habit that you can sustain over time.

I also recommend the book "Change your Paradigm, Change your Life" by Bob Proctor
